Agenda

Notes

  • PREX

- VO: early studies relaxing burpcut in all bpms from 0.35 to 0.6 (studies by Quinn Campagna) show full recovery of beam modulation data. This is likely the burp cut needed to be able to incorporate data taken during the modulation period into the production data set, a statistical improvement of almost 10%. We want to assess if a burp cut of this level adversely affects the production data or is still satisfactory.

-- PK: Scan through all output root files from re-spin, and look for runs where a large number of events are cut out from the burpcut.

-- VO: We'll find where the burpcut was meaningful (PK: where a large number of events didn't pass the burpcut errorflag). Relax the cut. See what it does to the data. Hope for the best.

  • CREX

- CC: having tricky time splitting dither corrections run-wise

-- VO: are there problems with using 1Xand4eX instead of 4ax and 4eX?

-- PK: unlikely, other than hardware issues early on

-- PK: the optics might be funny, but it should work to obtain a correction

-- VO: I will get rough first pass run-ranges for Crex based on 1X4eX corrections

- VO: need to look into supercycle averaging per run to recover corrections during periods of really trippy beam; this was especially problematic early on

-- YT : supercycle averaging won't be helpful when we have no energy modulation from improper FFB settings

- CC : should we be worried about bpm pedestal changes? -- PK: sensitivities will be different, but should be internally consistent
