Agenda
- runlist
- Robert has created a new sheet on the "runlist" table, and has added all the EPICS variables from the ADAQ run start and the APAR fast logger. All of the variables in both lists have been checked for returning valid response.
- "Operations" branch
- In the very near future, we will merge develop->master->operations
- Uncommitted panguin files
- Cameron will go through these and move his changes to his own development branch.
- Pull requests
- Request #80: In online mode, ROOT files are written to disk with a short update time (~30s), and panguin can open this file and see the updates as they occur.
- With fairly aggressive tree-trimming, we can get to about 7-8 ms per event. By also disabling the event tree, we might get the event rate low enough to run at 240 Hz.
- Putting in the effort to just use the TMapFile doesn't necessarily fix the issue, as the "Realtime" mode use cases sometimes involve needing to see an hour or so of history, which has been more than we had demonstrated working in the TMapFIle.
- Cameron and Wouter will explore the "realtime" mode
- Request #80: In online mode, ROOT files are written to disk with a short update time (~30s), and panguin can open this file and see the updates as they occur.
- online plots
- The plot title for figures in panguin seem to only be recognized on the first figure of a page. This is a low priority issue to investigate. I don't think it has been put into github as an issue yet.
- pair analysis
- I'd started a development branch for pair analysis. Tao will be picking up this branch.
- We discuss how we should form pairs: we agree that we should form pairs from adjacent events (every two events starting from the beginning of pattern) rather than the 60Hz-phase complement event of the event (such as event 1 and event 5 in an 240 Hz octet).
- regression analysis
- Robert and I are working on the data handler generalization.
- feedback
- Amali is working on getting qwfeedback running in offline mode (without ca_put calls).
- VQWK adcs
- Three boards have been repaired by Mark T. and checked by Cameron.
- CC had seen a strange apparent cross-talk in a "bad" VQWK before it was fixed; he doesn't see it in repaired boards, but will check on a board from the RHRS that has one bad channel.
- DAQ issues
- We will wait until after the 2 days of dedicated running after APEX to make further changes in the DAQ
- Other issues
- Wouter is working on the HAPPEX ADC error detection
Bob's DAQ tasklist
TO-DO list for Parity DAQ updated Jan 4, 2019
Cameron & Bob: 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 13 Tao & Cameron: 8, 9 Bob: 3, 6, 10 Cip, Cameron, Tao: 13 1 Doing - Timing: mostly understood, still small mysteries (LNE) 2 Doing - Synchronization-check system. w/help from Ed Jastrzembski 5 To Do - Clean up cabling, labels, fasteners - First need to examine all signals 6 Clean up CRL -- eliminate so-called "dirty trick" 7 Check the 7200 scaler setup at injector, find a spare 7200. 8 Doing - Pedestal studies, aka cross-talk. 10 Green Monster maintenance. 11 Doing - Test spares. Repair bad modules. 12 Doing - Document everything. Circuit diagrams, cable map, "how to". 13 Online software, a bit undefined since software is changing. (a) automatic production of run-dependent database (b) alarms like end-of-run voice (Bob) (c) feedback (d) coil-pulsing aka modulation aka dithering (Victoria) (e) panguin (GUI showing real-time plots) (f) prompt analysis (g) e-logbook entries (h) archiving EPICs data
