Agenda

  1. Dump Shielding Summary: Ciprian slides
    • DG: we should have a fat pipe with thin donut at the end (similar to PREX2 beampipe) to have an apples to apples comparison.
    • BM: add detailed dump configuration and run simulation
    • BM: change U shield into water.
    • KK: cantilever for concrete blocks past the crane coverage. DG: this is routinely done at JLab however the tight space could prove challenging. We should bring it up with the experts here.
    • SR: simulation with half the Pb target KP: we should run the test KK: if this works nicely then we should not replace all the targets with thinner targets
  2. FLUKA simulations: Victoria
    • VO: working on activation of collimator. rought geometry is in fluka (as obtained from the prex design document)
    • VO: fluke may not have proper interactions in the Pb. SR: if it does elastic scattering and brem it should be good enough.
    • CG: the geometry may not be quite correct. VO: will look into it
    • VO: fluka has a lot of functionality to look at activation after a set time. SR: this is exactly the kind of thing we need
    • KP: setup a new meeting. CG: will do
