- Target roughness study and rotating target - Bob elog-3005
Minutes
- Rotating target idea for PREX,
- non-uniformity of the lead target is the biggest problem PREX have
- going to rotating target would make this issue worse
- Goal for going to rotating target is luminosity but the main issue is asymmetry widths
- Organize a meeting to update Thia about all sides of the story about PREX target.
- Also discuss engineering manpower issues and review for PREX with Thia
- Get correct TOSCA model for PREX septum from Paul Brindza for Juliette
- We need to decide Qweak scattering chamber will be used for PREX or not
- Issue with Qweak chamber is that interfacing with the sieve box
- Advantage of the Qweak chamber is that use of the 2D qweak target ladder
- Reason we moved away from old target chamber was the interfacing with the sieve box
- Hall may be open till end of November and beam in hall after thanksgiving - Kent, Bob
- If the hall is going to be closed sooner we need to know it
