Agenda

1. FLUKA summary: Victoria slides
   • VO: work mainly for design around collimator region.
   • VO: simplified geometry but all materials needed were included and this was deemed sufficient for our purpose
   • VO: we took the worst case scenario for the simulation (no poly)
   • VO: we never get to larger than 1rem to need fencing (even if we multiply by a factor of 2)
   • VO: will upload data and tech note to docDB and put the code on GitHub.
   • KP: how about the off-axis doses? VO: slide 15 shows that result we have about 50 mrem after one week and downstream of the septum we have a factor of 2 less. The on-contact for the DS flange seems a larger difference.
   • KP: CREX production running is 35 vs 25 that you ran. VO: I don’t expect a large difference, but will rerun
   • BM: we need to plan carefully the target region with these dose. KP: agreed. we need to be very careful about the design
2. Dump shielding: Ciprian slides
   • CG: our shielding may be useful for APEX so Bogdan is trying to get it done so that it can be installed before APEX.
   • KP: the design on this is in a list that is being worked on so it’s very useful to have Bogdan looking at this.
