Agenda

  1. Adam: TOSCA Sims - Septum Beam Line Fields: HAPLOG Entry
    • AZ: This concerns the off axis beampipe fringe field for setup. We are changing the BH curve from what Jay had originally to the “mild average”. With the new material we get an 4-fold increase in the fringe in the center. With an insert we get back to the 1010 BH curve field.
    • SR: we may want to do a calculation for this. We have a script for this type of calculation in the elog somewhere.
    • JB: we should look at the integral BdL. It looks like you have an extra 5-600 Gauss*cm. For 2 GeV beam should not matter that much at the dump.
  2. Dustin: Simulated yields for thinner and shorter SAMs: HAPLOG Entry 3520
    • DM: we can reduce the quartz thickness and keep the light guide the same and still get reasonable number of PEs. We are running a couple more simulations to optimize the funnel angle.
    • DM: we have to keep the same width of the light guide because of the pipe.
    • DM: if we move quickly to get the quartz and new light guide we could do a beam test at SLAC. SR: could you do this with GEMs and cosmics? DM: not sure because it has proven difficult in the past, but we will try it.
    • DM: that being said we have good confidence in the simulation.
    • DM: we could reduce the radial size of the quartz.
    • CG: Could we rerun analysis for 1.25 cm radially and 6mm for both radiation and rates. CG & TY: will work on it until next week.
  3. Cameron: High statistics results and plots of SAM radiation simulations: DocDB 180, HAPLOG 3515 file 2
    • CG: postpone until next week.
