Spectrometer Tunes
Tune A
The dipoles should be regulated at P0=1.063 GeV/c, don't regulate the quads. Input their currents as follows.
Left Arm | Right Arm | |||
---|---|---|---|---|
Magnet | Current per momentum | Actual current | Current per momentum | Actual current |
Q1 | " | Same as Right | 499.872 Amps/GeV | 531.364 Amps |
Q2 | " | Same as Right | 408.565 Amps/GeV | 434.305 Amps |
Q3 | " | Same as Right | 581.566 Amps/GeV | 618.205 Amps |
Tune B
Regulate all magnets. Choose prex_B from the menu and type 1.063 into the prex brown box.
Tune X
The dipoles should be regulated at P0=1.063 GeV/c, don't regulate the quads. Input their currents as follows.
Left Arm | Right Arm | |||
---|---|---|---|---|
Magnet | Current per momentum | Actual current | Current per momentum | Actual current |
Q1 | " | Same as Right | 547.583 Amps/GeV | 582.081 Amps |
Q2 | " | Same as Right | 446.039 Amps/GeV | 474.139 Amps |
Q3 | " | Same as Right | 500.956 Amps/GeV | 532.516 Amps |
Tune Y
The dipoles should be regulated at P0=1.063 GeV/c, don't regulate the quads. Input their currents as follows.

Useful Contact Numbers
How to Page People
For regular (non-alphanumeric) pagers, I think the "old" method still works. It's like 9-584-XXXX. On a JLab computer, type "staff fred" to look up the pager number for "fred".
- The Run Coordinator pager works with this method.
For alphanumeric or cell-based pagers, I think the only reliable way is to use the web interface, as follows:.
- To page anyone. enter name, or username, and a dialog pops up. Click "Click to Page" and do the obvious.
- To page Bob
Pitfalls of the pager system (AFAIK):
- If you use the web-based pager to page someone with a non-alphanumeric pager, it won't work. They get a beep but no information about who paged them nor the message.
- If you page someone (like the hall A techs) with a cell-phone-based pager, using the old method (584-XXXX) it won't work: fails silently. The only way to page such people is via the web-based paging system.
- The Telecommunications info is difficult to find on the web and not clear. If someone knows better, edit this line.
