Optics update

• Preliminary conclusions from this study,
  • The CREX target needs to be placed 30 cm from the current PREX target position in order to get 4 deg scattered into the acceptance.
  • We can use the same PREX septum for CREX tune with updated CREX target position
• Optics group (Guido, Seamus and Nickie) are looking further into optics tune for CREX
  • The elog 2966 shows the PREX tune from the simulation in attachment 1
  • The CREX tune with PREX septum and 30 cm upstream target location is shown in the attachment 2
  • In the attachment 3 the data is in black and green and red curves are from two different simulations
  • The tails in the x and y distributions from simulation but not seen with PREX data needs to be understood
  • In the plots the x axis is the dispersion axis

From Last week

• Check the PREX beam dump - Lorenzo and Rakitha
  • We may not need to keep tracks after about 3 m into the dump therefore we could add kryptonite

Misc.

• Beam parasitic studies needs a to-do list
