Agenda
Updated from Nickie : theta, and theta versus p at PREX focal plane, DATA elog 2970
Present:
Bob, Seamus, Yuxiang, Ciprian, KK, Nickie, Paul, Kent
Minutes
Minutes
- Nickie's elog 2970 shows angular distribution at the VDC plane for PREX-I data, He will make a follow up post with detector plane angular distribution
- It would be nice to see the angular distribution with respect to central angle (45 deg.) at the detector plane.
- This angular distribution is important to look at as current PREX-II detector design-3 is more sensitive to the angular distribution
- We also have to consider about the transverse asymmetry effects on the detector plane.
- The angular distribution and transverse effect needs to be understood with new quard replacements in HRS
- In PREX-I we empirically understood the transverse contribution using a detector placed at a region sensitive to transverse contribution
- Engineering update from Kent,
- Now engineering efforts are focused to APEX and SBS and now is a good time to address some of issues requiring engineering time,
- This include,
- How to insert the collimators, transversely or horizontally. Our original idea was to insert it from top. see minutes on Minutes
- Rolf's idea of using a new narrow (long) scattering chamber
- Using a new narrow (long) scattering chamber would require two target ladder systems for PREX and CREX
- Bob and Kent will post elogs with showing a crude design diagram
- Bob will talk to Dave Meekins and Siviu about the new scattering chamber
- We would like to have a solidworks (CAD) drawing for this proposed scattering chamber design
- Talk to Dustin about making a design using his or his student's CAD skills
- We have to come up with list of upgrades (new purchases or new designs) that will be required by this new scattering chamber design
- How to deal with optics targets and water cell target?
- We will not need long scattering chamber design for CREX as Dave Meekins have a way to keep Ca target isolated without elongated windows. see minutes on Minutes
Misc.
- Beam parasitic studies needs a to-do list
TO DO Lists
- It would be nice to have real-time viewer for optics studies in commissioning (disussed in 01/16/2014 meeting)
