Agenda

  1. Ongoing CREX prep activities: CREX-Install-Album
    1. Accelerator schedule: Bob M
      • Lock-up Friday 3 pm, stay in Controlled Access until beam.
      • ACC work ongoing : establish vacuum, turn on RF, measure heat loads and gradients, tune beam.
      • Expect Spin Dance Nov 30, Physics Dec 2.
    2. Alexandre: Compton edet
      • Possibly an update from Bryan Moffit
      • Bryan reports that they had just gotten the VTP to generate triggers from either the FADC or the VETROC in the Compton DAQ test stand
    3. HRS Readiness : Chandan
    4. Refurbished S3 and Trigger : Devi and Chandan.
    5. Pedestal noise: Devi and Dustin
      • https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3742715
      • The AT detectors are showing extra random noise, but fairly rarely. It seems to be intrinsic to the AT detectors, and is most noticeable when the HV is at normal setting (less so for low HV).
      • Kent asks if they'd trying looking for it on a scope; Devi and Dustin will do that later today.
    6. Septum Status : Don Jones
      • Jack has run the right side of the septum up to 900A for a minute; it looks ok.
      • The left side hasn't been tested yet
      • Don has prepared a hall probe and has identified a location he can place the probe to check the septum polarity. He will do a polarity check some time next week when the magnets are ready.
      • Jack and Heidi need to set up an interlock to power down both sides of the septum if one side trips
        • Cip suggests that we also put in a test plan to check the amount of beam steering which occurs due to only having one side of the septum energized. In case we want to run with a single arm.
    7. Software
      • We have a new web directory for analysis plots (https://prex.jlab.org/analysis/) which is independent of the hallaweb directory. We will shift our online plots directories there.
