Agenda

  1. Ongoing CREX prep activities: all
    • CG: what is the startup schedule? KP: latest Gant chart from B-team shows that beam tests to the halls on Nov 13th.
    • KP: the compton laser has dropped in power quite a lot. work will be needed in early November.
    • KP: target cooldown has been moved to before thanksgiving.
    • DM: working on the wiki to update the instructions for CREX (while saving the PREX instructions). CC: basically duplicated the information by adding PREXII in the page name.
    • CC: took test runs with the cavities by injecting signal. will repeat for digitals. log entries created (1% non linearity for analogs)
    • CG: will send Jack an email about power supply for septum
  2. SAM cans: Ciprian
    • CG: details ironed out last Friday with Machine Shop at SBU. Manufacturing slated to start tomorrow or Monday.
    • CG: vacuum testing system waiting on a convertor flange. We will get it Oct 30th (just in time with the first cans)
  3. Injector laser work: Caryn
    • CP: defining the settings for all 4 lasers. we did the cathode rotation. on the 29th we may be able to do pos diff feedback. we will run at 120Hz.
  4. Detector linearity: Devi
    • DeA: mentioned before the degradation of the current during PREX. made measurements of the anode currents with the same setup as before the run. DM: there was a degradation in the dinode or base (the cathode seems to be fine). we tried to minimize the changes in the setup.
    • DeA: the non linearities are all small before and after. KP: very impressive.
  5. PREX targets: Silviu
    • SD: the one with the cracked graphite is #5 on the ladder (208Pb2), the one with the raster pattern is 208Pb3.
    • SD: we also seemed to be pretty well centered.
    • CP: a picture of the front and back would be useful.
    • SD: 208Pb8 is the one with a piece of diamond off
    • SD: 208Pb6 is the one that looks good in the last picture and we ran 85uA on it.
    • SD: Dave M said it was not badly damaged and he cleaned the surface with radCon help. He plans to install it back. DM: wonder if there is a raster pattern on it.
    • KP: will throw some updated pictures on the docDB
