Minutes
Minutes
- What needs to be done before deciding the review
- Depend on how much design time we get from engineering
- From our side we need to update fringe field estimation for CREX and then simulate the radiation background
- Need engineering input for target and septum design
- Now we eliminated the activation problem by the collimator we have to think about materials use for scattering chamber and collimator box due to vacuum coupling between them and in to the beam pipe
- What is the realistic time frame for the review?
- Earliest we can do is October?
- We need to tell Patricia how soon we can have a meeting and what to include in the review
- It seems that the trade off of using PREX collimator for CREX is more radiation dumped to the hall compared with custom designed collimator for CREX
- Estimate increase in dose if we use PREX collimator - Rakitha
- We need a plan for beam test period starting late November
- Silvu came by with questions about target mover for PREX. We closed the meeting before he could ask:
- List from Bob of 10 targets, but only 1 of them were lead. (We guessed those 10 were in addition to the 10 lead targets.)
- the motor for the target mover will be above the PREX chamber by 0.5 meters (or perhaps a bit more, if more than 10 targets). We need to evaluate radiation dose. A motor which can handle 200 MRad has been identified for the system. Will that be sufficient?
Misc.
- Beam parasitic studies needs a to-do list
TO DO Lists
- It would be nice to have real-time viewer for optics studies in commissioning (disussed in 01/16/2014 meeting)
