Minutes
- Followup from last week
- Kent will update Pavel and George Kharashvili about our current status on activation studies that Lorenzo has done.
- Discuss about activation studies with Lorenzo (kent)
- We will use 2 chemically pure lead targets during commissioning and testing, then we have 10 iostopically pure lead targets for production running
- What fall-back plans we have if we run out of 10 lead targets - Bob is looking into this
- Optics/Momentum calibration
- We have discussed about use of different target during 11-21-2013 meeting
- Use Water cell or Gordon-style Gas cell or Hydrocarbon target
- Update Dave Meekins about PREX target plans
- Engineering open issues that needs attention from Alan and other engineers
- Plastic shielding update once we finalize our conceptual design
- Water shielding in vacuum, the cad design do not exists.
- Septum magnet shielding for beam line. We agreed to extend magnetic shielding in either ends of the septum to minimize the fringe field
- TOSCA model simulation with magnetic shielding is also required with this improvement. We need help from Paul Brindza or Robin Wines. Juliette can provide expert help from PREX collaboration side on this project.
- Deinstallation plans for shielding, scattering chamber + SC attachment, and collimator
- Mounting collimator with water cooling channels
- Q1 aperture update
- Target ladder needs to be designed.
- Using a linear ladder will be less practical due to large number of proposed targets during PREX
- Feasibility to use Qweak target ladder (2D) -> Needs discussion with Silviu
- Designing and building a new 2D target ladder will be expensive compared to refurbishing Qweak ladder
- Bob will look in to this before the collaboration meeting
Misc.
- Beam parasitic studies needs a to-do list
TO DO Lists
- We need to have an estimate of how much coulombs used for PREX-I data and an estimate for PREX-II to determine effectively how much more beam time we will use.
- Have a optic calibration run plan (discussed in 01/16/2014 meeting)
- It would be nice to have real-time viewer for optics studies in commissioning (disussed in 01/16/2014 meeting)
