Minutes

• Optics/Momentum calibration - Bob, Nickie and Seamus?
  • We have discussed about use of different target during 11-21-2013 meeting
  • Use can Water cell or Gordon-style Gas cell or Hydrocarbon target
  • Nickie has done some initial work with gas target simulation using HAMC
    • Still there may be some work left to be done on setting the simulation either using HAMC of HMS-MC : generator implementation and etc.
  • Our next goal is to make some progress before the collaboration meeting
  • Evaluating optics with gas target include,
    • Differentiate gas and window contributions
    • What do we get at detector plane? elastics or quasi-elastics?
    • Do we get enough gas signal over window signal at detector plane?
    • Can we make the cell long to move windows out of the detector acceptance
    • What are the radiative effects at the gas target?
    • What gas density/pressure to use?
    • How thick the windows needs to be?
    • It would be nice to obtain focal rate distributions from gas target
    • What gas mixture to use? initially planned to have Hydrogen with some inert heavy nucleus (Ne)
  • Once we have some results, it would be nice to have a meeting before the collaboration meeting with Gordon, Nilanga, KK, Kent, Bob, and Nickie
• Q1 update
  • The current plan is to mount old one of SOS quad into right HRS
  • If they are going to proceed with this, we have to consider about what implication on PREX
    • Can we run PREX without modifications?
    • It appear that due to changes in SOS quad like smaller diameter (25 cm compared with standard 30 cm) there may be about 20% reduction in rate
    • If that is the case we have to consider about how many new PAC days we going to need
    • This is not an urgent matter to discuss in the collaboration meeting but need to keep track the status of the Q1
• Circulate draft agenda of the meeting that will help to prepare what is expected from various groups before the meeting : Kent
• KK to talk with Thia about her recent comment regarding the readiness review - KK
  • What we need before the scheduling of experiments? radiation status only? or what else needed?

Misc.

• Beam parasitic studies needs a to-do list

TO DO Lists

• We need to have an estimate of how much coulombs used for PREX-I data and an estimate for PREX-II to determine effectively how much more beam time we will use.
• Have a optic calibration run plan (discussed in 01/16/2014 meeting)
• It would be nice to have real-time viewer for optics studies in commissioning (disussed in 01/16/2014 meeting)
