THE plan.

  1. If not yet taken, harp scans
    • (1H04A, 1H04B) verify intrinsic size at target (Previous spot 100 um x by 550um y. We need at least (150um)x(150um) area.
  1. C-Hole target, verify spot
    • 20 nA, spot ++
    • Turn on S0 voltages (or S3 if S0 is removed)
    • Find C-hole
    • verify raster size with C-Hole. Log with Quadrupole fields
  2. Establish beam on lead target
    • at 1uA and nominal raster, record cavity positions for nominal collimator center (x=0.6, y=0.4mm).
  3. SAM voltages
    • 50uA on natural Pb-diamond, set SAM HV (Devi)
  4. BMW calibration
    1. tune beam, slow lock on and FFB on, exercise BMW, check no ion chamber trips, check pauses locks and FFB
    2. low current 2-3uA, exercise BMW, check BPM signals, check no ion chamber issues
  5. PITA/IA scan
    • FFB on, target lock on. BMW off
    1. PITA scan. +/- 1500 counts, 5 points, 1-2 minutes each. (expected: 0.12 ppm/count)
    2. IA scan +/- 20,000 counts, 5 points, 1-2 minutes each. (should be approx +/- 500 ppm)
  6. Short "production mode" lead measurement
    • FFB on. Target lock on.
    • BMW on regular cycling
    • Aq feedback
    • All HV off in HRS hut, except quartz
    • Target lock (0.6mm, 0.4mm)
    1. 50 uA on lead. 20 minutes.
      • Look at
        • Collimator water temp
        • beamline temperatures
        • Ion chamber (stability)
        • SAM yields
        • BCM and BPM yields, widths.
  7. Current Scan for detector pedestals
    • FFB on. Target lock on. Wait on each data point for target lock and FFB lock to converge.
    • Beam modulation off for this scan
    • Aq feedback off for this scan
    • 20-55uA.
  8. Current Scan for bpm pedestals
    • "GAINS OFF" for bpms at 50 uA.
    • FFB off (to turn gains off.)
    • Target lock on. Wait on each data point for target lock lock to converge.
    • Beam modulation off for this scan
    • Aq feedback off for this scan
    • 20-55uA.
  9. Long "production mode" lead measurement
    • FFB on. Target lock on.
    • BMW on regular cycling
    • Aq feedback ON
    • All HV off in HRS hut, except quartz
    • Target lock (0.6mm, 0.4mm)
    • 50 uA on lead. 60 minutes.
  10. Establish beam on thick (90deg) Carbon target
    • record cavity positions at target lock position (1uA) with nominal raster.
    • turn target lock off (but leave correctors at last set value)
    • 20nA beam on C target
    • verify location on cavity BPMs (DO NOT USE CAVITY LOCK).
      • If in wrong position, with S0 HV off go to 0.5uA to reset cavity lock to collimator se
    • S0 HV on.
    • Raster 10x10 to look for frame edges.
    • spot++ with T1
    • Look for frame edges. If none, good to go. if so, choose a raster that won't hit it.
  11. Production runs on carbon
    • BMW on
    • FFB on, target lock on.
    • Aq feedback on
    1. Nominal raster, 65 uA. 20 min.
    2. Half raster. 65 uA. 20 min.
    3. No raster. 15 uA. 20 min.
    4. Nominal raster, 65 uA. 60 min.
    5. Half raster. 65 uA. 60 min.
